Our New Home

So we sold our first home and in the search for a new house, you definitely had your favorite. You called it the "hamster house", b/c it had LOTS of toys, most of them were Zhu Zhu pets. We decided that we couldn't get this house b/c they wouldn't come down any on the price. When I tried to explain to you, that I would have to go to work more often and not get to spend as much time with you if we got this house, you said, "ok, you go to work more".  Thanks son!

When we finally found the house that we wanted, it had a POOL! The only problem was the pool was green. The house was a foreclosure and it hadn't been kept up. You still continued to say you didn't want the house we picked out, you wanted the "hamster house". One day while we were sitting out back, looking at the pool, I was like Chase, you don't want this house with this big ol' pool. You were like, "no, I don't like this pool, I want a BLUE pool like that one". You were pointing at the neighbors pool that was nice and clean and pretty. I had to laugh and explain to you that our pool would look like that eventually. Now that the pool is blue and we can swim in it, you're alot happier with this house.

On April 24, 2011 our small town was devastated by a tornado. Our house (both houses actually, the one we were selling and the one we were buying) was ok, we could hear the tornado go by, but it spared us. Our city was another story. It was an F4 tornado that cut a wide path through the center of our city.  It will take years to rebuild what was lost. One night, after things had returned to somewhat normal, we were watching a special on tv about it. When a commercial came on, you told me that you wanted a house with a basement instead of one with a swimming pool. How sad is that. You're only 4 and you're so concerned by the chance of another tornado, that you would pick a basement over a pool.

Your school. Thankfully you weren't there, b/c those were your classrooms.
