"A Prize"

You crack me up kid! I think I've told this story to everyone:

I went out grocery shopping today and when I got back, Daddy had wrapped one of my Christmas presents and put it under the tree. When I came and sat down, you came up to me, with your hands behind your back and brought them out to show me a small box and you said "a prize" (surprise), after this, our conversation went as follows:

Moma: "You got me a present?"
Chase: "Des" (Yes)
Moma: "What is it?"
Chase: "A watch for you (your) arm"
Moma: "Really!"
Chase: "Des" (Yes)
Moma: "What color is it?"
Chase: "Princess Pink"

Chase and the big "Part"

You've made a couple "fiends" at preschool. Their names are Jake and Ace. Daddy works with Jake's Daddy and I went to school with Ace's Daddy. Anyway, I'm afraid after yesterday's event, you may only have one "fiend" left. On the way home from preschool, our conversation went as follows:

Me: "What did you do at school today Chase?"
You: " I parted on Ace!"
Me: I'm translating Chasese to English, knowing that the letter "P" is often used in place of the letter "F" and I said "What did you say?"
You: "I parted on Ace, I stink!"

What am I going to do with you?!

Christmas Tree!

Last night I was putting up the Christmas tree in our livingroom and you fell asleep while I was doing it. You must have forgotten about it, b/c the next morning when you got up, you went in the livingroom and ran back to the bathroom, where I was and was all amazed and bright eyed and said "Moma, deres a bi Kissmiss tree in dere!" (Moma, there's a big Christmas tree in there). I love the excitement in your voice and on your face when you discover new things! I can just imagine what it's going to be like the morning Santa leaves you presents under that "Kissmiss Tree"!

$7

For some reason, me and your Dad can't figure out, you have an obssession with "se-win dollars" (seven dollars). It started while we were in Disney World. I guess we told you something was $7 and it just stuck with you. Now, anytime we ask you how much something costs, you say "se-win dollars". You are forever telling me that you like this truck or that truck that we see in the parking lot. Now you say, "see dat truck, it se-win dollars, I have it?" (see that truck , it's $7, can I have it?) Never a dull moment with you buddy!

"My Girlfriend"

Lately you've been coming home from school talking about your "gurlpend" (girlfriend). When we went up to your school for a Harvest Carnival, you kept pointing at girls saying, "dats my gurlpend". Then last night when we went to Burger King, you saw a group of girls come in that were about Jr. High age and they were wearing uniforms, like volley ball uniforms or something. Well, you pointed to the group of girls and said "dats my gurlpend". Then when they sat down, they started smiling at you and you started smiling back and hiding your face and you had to show them all the stuff on the table, "my chicken, my apple, my piet (Sprite), my toy, etc". It was so cute to see you flirting with them. I guess I'm in for it when you get older!

Apple Spider!

Last night we bought some apple cider at Wal-Mart and of course you started in with your usual, "What dat?" I told you apple cider and you said, "oh, apple spider". I can't get you to say it right, you're still calling it "apple spider". So CUTE!

Moma's a BIG Boy!

Tonight when we were at a church Trunk or Treating, I took you to use the potty, I had to go too and when I finished, you clapped for me and said "Moma, you a BIG boy! You pee pee in da potty!" I'm just so thankful that we were the only ones in the bathroom!

October 26, 2009

I LOVE YOU!

You (finally) just said the sweetest words in the world to me! "I Wu You Moma, I Wu You". I've told you that over and over every day of your life! Now, I finally got to hear those sweet words from you! I LOVE YOU too baby and always will with all my heart!

Go to Work!

Lately, when I won't let you do something that you want to you point and me and say "Moma, you go a wook, I do this" (Moma you go to work, so I can do this). Makes me wonder what kind of stuff that you get away with while I'm at work. It kind of hurts my feelings too that you want me to leave and go to work.

October 22, 2009

Privacy Please!

You have finally started pooping in the potty and I must say, you are almost as proud of yourself as we are! You are so funny, when you're sitting on the potty and I go to check on you, b/c you say, "YOU, in dere" while pointing to the livingroom. I guess you need your privacy to do your business.

October 09, 2009

Pretty Baby!

Lately any time I say something is pretty, you say "yeah, I pity too, I Moma's pity baby". Love it! You definitely take after your Daddy!

September 28, 2009

Shapes

When Daddy brought you home from school today, you had a sheet of paper with shapes on it and Daddy said "where's the circle?" and you pointed to it, Daddy asked "where's the triangle?" and you pointed to it, then Daddy asked "where's the retangle?" and you pointed to the square and said "dat's da quare". WOW! I'm so proud of you. I'm just shocked at how easily you learn stuff! You're so smart! Then you ripped the square off and I had to tape it back, but that's another story.

September 11, 2009

AH-CHOO!

Lately, you've been walking around, saying AH-SHOOO......AH-SHOOO.....AH-SHOOO, louder and louder and louder like you're sneezing. I'm not sure if you're doing it for attention or what, but it's pretty funny!

September 01, 2009

Adventures in Wal-Mart

The other day when we were in Wal-Mart, we were going through your favorite department and you saw the barbies. You said "what dat?" I told you, it's a barbie, aren't they pretty, you said "NO! Moma pity!" Talk about melt my heart! You're becoming quite the little man.

Then we were buying coffee and we were getting the kind with caffiene in it, so it was red and you had a fit b/c you wanted to buy the "geen" (green) kind. Obviously your favorite color is green.

August 15, 2009

MONSTERS!

Lately, you've become obsessed with "stisters" (monsters). There are "stisters" in your room, "stisters" at school, "stisters" in Moma's room, "stisters" in the kitchen, you name it, there's a "stister" there.

August 06, 2009

I'm 2!

The other day when we were at the "swimney poo", you were waiting in line to jump off the diving board and the little girl behind you said "are you 3?" I started to think that you wouldn't understand what she was talking about, but before I could finish that thought, you said, "no, I 2". It was the cutest thing I've ever heard, hearing you have a little conversation with another child. It turns out she was 4 and was amazed that you were not scared to jump off the diving board!

July 21, 2009

McDonald's

The last few months, you have survived on nothing but Chicken Nuggets from McDonald's. You have graduated from the 4 piece to the 6 piece McNuggets recently. I love it b/c everytime you see the McDonald's sign you say "Uhdonna's, Uhdonna's!"

July 15, 2009

Shark!

Today when we were at the swimming pool (the "swimney poo" as you say), I told you that you swim like a fish! You said, "no, I shark, roar, Moma fish". I tried to explain to you that a shark and a fish were the same thing, but you didn't care, you just insisted that you were a shark.

July 13, 2009

Doctor Duncan

You had to go to the Dr. today. When we were in the exam room you said "where Doctor". I said he's in another room seeing someone else. You pointed to yourself and said, "I Doctor". I said really, are you a baby doctor? You said "no". I said are you a Grandma Doctor? You said "Des".

June 26, 2009

Cheeseburger!

You've been saying cheeseburder (cheeseburger) for a little while now. Even though you've never had one, b/c you are allergic to cheese. Well, today, Daddy went out and got us something to eat and he brought you back some french fries and you looked at him and said "where my cheeseburder?" (where's my cheeseburger?).

June 25, 2009

Bowl Cut!

I took you yesterday to get your second hair cut ever. I told you that we were going to get you a bowl cut like Daddy had when I met him:-) I would ask you if you wanted a hair cut, and you would say "des, bow tut" (yes, bowl cut). Well, while we were waiting you kept sitting up in the chair and saying "bow tut" (bowl cut). When we finally got to get your hair cut the lady said that a bowl cut would be ugly and said you wouldn't be still enough and it would be crooked. So, we went with just a sweet little boy cut. As you can see, you weren't very happy about having it done.

June 14, 2009

Nana's House

Today, while we were out driving, we passed Captain D's (which happens to be where your Nana works) and you pointed at it and said "Dat es Nana's ouse!" (That is Nana's house). It was so cute b/c you thought b/c we go there and see her all the time that it is her house!

June 06, 2009

More Conversations with a 2 Year-Old......

You were taking a bath today and you came to me and this is how our conversation went:

Chase:"Batub yeyo" (Bathtub yellow)

Moma: "What?"

Chase: "Batub yeyo" (Bathtub yellow)

Moma: "The bathtub's yellow?"

Chase: "Des" (Yes)

Moma: "Did you pee in it?"

Chase: You are very excited, with your eyes wide open and nodding your head..... "Des!" (Yes!)

June 05, 2009

Swimming

You had alot of fun swimming yesterday. You were so cute b/c instead of saying swimming, you kept saying "swimmy". You said that you were wearing your "swimmy shorts", you kept calling it the "swimmy pool". You also kept laying in the really shallow water and moving your arms and your legs and saying "I swimmy, I swimmy". You were so excited and had a ton of fun!

May 31, 2009

Uncle Dalton and Uncle Hunter

You love to visit your Nana, Paw Paw, and 2 Uncles, Dalton and Hunter. Until yesterday, I had never heard you say Dalton. Almost every day we have to go through the routine of you saying, "where's Na Na, where's Paw Paw and where's Hunner" (Hunter). Sometimes, "where's Cylas" (one of your cousins). For a while you called Dalton and Hunter both "Hunner" (Hunter), I guess b/c you couldn't say Dalton. Well, Dalton stayed the night at our house last night and you've been calling him "Dun Dun". It's so cute, I've even started calling him that sometimes too!

May 24, 2009

Conversations with a 2 Year-Old

Chase-"Moe Pite?" (More Sprite?) before I can say no, you say "Des! (Yes!)" as you are saying this your eyes are wide open and you are excitedly nodding your head yes.

Moma-"No, you can have juice or milk."

Chase-"Pite!" (Sprite!) as you say this, you are jumping up and down stomping your feet.

Moma-"Juice or Milk?"

Chase-"Pite Peeeeeez" (Sprite Please) now you're making a puppy dog face.

Moma-"No!"

about a minute goes by

Chase-"Chase Juice"

Moma-"Do you want Juice?"

Chase-"Des" (Yes) eyes wide open nodding your head excitedly.

So, I go to the fridge and get you some juice.

Chase-"Tanks" (Thanks)

Moma-"You're Welcome"

Chase-"Tank Ew Moma" (Thank you Moma)

Moma-"You're Welcome Chase"

It's All Worth It!

May 22, 2009

YELLOW!

YAY! You can say yellow! You've known most of your colors for a few months now. But you never would say yellow, b/c you thought you couldn't say it, you always called it boo (blue). I new you could say it, b/c you can say jejo (jello). Anyway, today we went to Lowe's to look at some stuff and you were VERY GOOD! That's a rarity these days. I told you b/c you were good, you could pick out a toy at the grocery store. Well you picked out a pack of 3 big trucks for $1. I asked you to tell me what color they were, and you said re (red), boo (blue) an yeyo (yellow)! I almost teared up there in Warehouse Grocery. I have been trying and trying for months to get you to say that word! I'm so proud of you for being so smart and saying so many things. You know your colors and you're only two! That's a BIG deal!

May 19, 2009

CHAAAAAAAAASE!

Lately, everytime you do something that you know is wrong, you go CHAAAAAAASE! I guess that I've said that one too many times. I always know I better go check on you if I hear that.

May 12, 2009

That Bunny!

The Easter Bunny must have really made an impression on you, b/c you are still talking about it a month later. A few days ago, when we pulled into the shopping center where we saw the Easter Bunny at Easter, you looked around and said, "where dat bunny doe?" (where did that bunny go?). Then tonight you said "I steered" (I'm scared). You've been saying this alot lately, I think just to get attention. Well I said "why are you scared" and your reply was "da bunny"! There is not a bunny anywhere around, so I don't know why you're saying you're scared of it.

Green Light! Go!

We heard your newest phrase tonight while driving down the road. First I want to say that we've been working on your colors and I think you are doing really good! You know most of your colors, even though you try to call everything blue to begin with, but with some prompting you usually name the correct color. Yellow is hard for you to say, so you always call it blue, but I know you know the difference, b/c when I ask you to point to something yellow, you always get it right. Pretty good for a 2 year-old if I must say so myself. Anyway, tonight we were driving down the road and went under a traffic light and you said "gween light, doe" (green light, go). My only guess is that you learned it on Caillou, your favorite show!

May 11, 2009

What's Up Dog?

Here's another phrase that you learned from Daddy. Today when he woke up and saw you, he said "Hey Chase!" and you said "up dawg" (what's up dog). Daddy's been saying that to you alot lately and it looks like you've finally caught on. What is happening to my sweet, little, innocent, baby boy?????

April 29, 2009

Look Moma!

I hear ook Moma (look Moma) at least 100 times a day! You say it so much to me during the day that when Daddy gets home, you start telling him ook Moma, ook Moma and then you correct yourself and say ook Daddy! Some days I think you are going to drive me crazy, but it's all worth it in the end, like tonight when you looked up at me before going to sleep and said what sounded like thank you, or it could have been love you. Either way, it was the sweetest thing I had ever heard!

That's Nice! Cool!

Daddy has taught you some interesting new phrases. Now whenever you get a new car or something that you like, you either say Dat's Nice or Coo (That's Nice or Cool). You are definetly becoming a little "mini me". You try to do every thing your Daddy does and be just like him!

April 18, 2009

It's Broke

Being the "normal" 2 year-old that you are, you decided to strip down naked and run around in the back yard (I'm sorry I don't have any pictures). Well, I could tell by the way you were acting that you had to pee, so I said it's ok, you can pee outside. Well you started peeing and then when you finished, you looked down at your penis and said "it boke" (it's broke). You thought that it was broke, b/c you couldn't get any more pee to come out of it!

April 14, 2009

Yes Pease and No Way!

All day today instead of saying just yes or no, you've been saying "Yes Pease and No Way!" How is it that you just get cuter and funnier everyday!

April 12, 2009

I'm Scared!

Today, I took you to see the Easter Bunny and you kept saying "Where da bunny doe?" Well, we finally found him and were walking toward him to get a picture and you got this pityful look on your face and said "I steered" (I'm scared). Needless to say, I didn't get a picture of you with him, but you sure weren't too "steered" to take some candy from him!

April 05, 2009

Lo Mein

After we went to see Thomas the Train, we stopped and ate at Moma's favorite Chinese Resturant. Moma's favorite food turned out to be your favorite too. It was Vegetable Lo Mein. I told you it was Lo Mein and asked you if you liked Lo Mein and you kept saying "MMMMmmmm Mein." You ate 2 big plates full you liked it so much!

My Name is Chase:-)

We went to the train museum in Calera today to see Thomas the Train. While we were on the train riding it, people that worked there would come by and talk with us. When one man came and sat down to talk to us, you said, "my name Chase". You're going to be very social like your Daddy, that's for sure. You had alot of fun riding the train and seeing all the other trains there.

I Don't Want It!

You just spent a lovely 2 days in Children's Hospital with the croup. I must say it was much better than the 7 you spent last time. Well, you didn't want any of the nurses coming near you and putting any monitors on you. They kept trying to put a little thing on your toe to measure the oxygen in your blood and you didn't like it. Well, the first morning, you finally fell asleep, sitting up, around 6am and you started pulling on your toe (there was nothing on your toe) and saying in your sleep, I dawn wawn it, (I don't want it). You started saying that anytime they would try to put something on you. Also, anytime one of the nurses would come in the room and try to do something to you, you would point to the door and say "Da udder der way" (the other way). Moma is so, so happy that you're feeling better now, even though you are even more spoiled now than you were before!

March 26, 2009

Chase Go to Work Too!

Yesterday when Daddy told you he was going to work, you took his hand and said "Chase doe to work too" (Chase go to work too). Then today, when Daddy said I'm going bye-bye, you said "Chase doe bye bye too" (Chase go bye bye too). The best of all, was today when I told you that we were leaving Nana's and going bye-bye. You went to Nana and said "hand" (this is what you say when you want some one to take your hand so you can take them to something), well she took your hand and you started pulling her toward the door and said "Nana doe bye bye too" (Nana go bye bye too).

March 25, 2009

Grandma

I've been trying forever to get you to say Grandma and Grammy. Well this morning when we were leaving Grandma and Grammy's house I told you like I always do, tell Grandma bye-bye, after I told you to tell he several times, you finally said "bye, Gran-mawmaw". It was so, so sweet to finally hear you say it, I know it was really sweat for her to hear you say it too!

March 23, 2009

The Other Way!

Now anytime we go into Wal-Mart (which is quite frequently) and we are not going toward the toys, you say "the uh der der way!" (the other way!). Ha! Ha! For some reason you think that everytime we go to Wal-Mart you get to go to the toy department and get a toy. Now what would make you think such a thing:-)

March 18, 2009

Where did Dase go?

For some reason in addition to calling Daddy, Daddy. You've been calling him Dase too! Everytime he leaves, you'll say "where did Dase doe?" I can't figure out why you've been saying it or what it means. It sounds like a combination of Daddy and Chase.

March 17, 2009

Chicken, French Fries and Sprite

Daddy watched you while Moma worked last night and he somehow forgot to feed you anything good for supper (Moma doesn't consider popcorn a good supper). So on the way home, I decided to get your favorite meal, a Chicken McNugget Happy Meal from McDonalds. Well I said, "do you want some Chicken?" You said, "des, chick chick n fen fies n pite!" (Yes, chicken and french fries and sprite!). I said "ok then".

March 15, 2009

YES!

Within the last few days, you FINALLY started saying des (yes)! After answering no to about a million questions in your short little life, you decided to add the all empowering word yes. We didn't think you would ever say it!

March 11, 2009

Oh Sh*t!

Well, you are repeating EVERYTHING now! You want to be just like Daddy, so today when Daddy said oh sh*t you took it upon your self to say "sh*t". I've been telling Daddy for 2 years that he was going to have to watch it, I guess he believes me now!

March 07, 2009

Orange

Today when I was getting ready for work, you walked up and pointed at my scrub pants and said "orange"! I was shocked, I said, what did you say? You looked at me and said "orange". Yep, you told me the color of my pants, I tested it out later, and said what color is this, you said "orange". You're so smart! Orange is the only color you'll do it for though. I hope this doesn't mean that you're going to be an Auburn fan, b/c Daddy will not be happy!

March 06, 2009

5,6,8,9,10!

You can count! My little 2 year old can count:-) Well, I have to give you #7, but you say 5,6, (I say 7) you say 8,9,10! It just came out of nowhere, I didn't teach it to you. I think you either learned it from your cousin Matthew, or from tv (gasp, I let you watch tv, big no no). Today when you were watching tv, a character was learning how to count and another character was teaching him, well you were trying to help teach him too, it was so cute. Then when the character finally got it right, you clapped for him!

March 04, 2009

Some More Muddy Tires

How long has it been since the muddy tires incident? About a month now, but you're STILL talking about it. If you're playing by yourself with your toys, I hear "stuck, nu-e tars" (stuck muddy tires). If we're driving in the car, I hear "stuck nu-e tars". If you see a train that's not moving, you say "Choo! Choo!" and you guessed it, "stuck nu-e tars". When you meet someone new, it's not Hi, how are you, it's "stuck nu-e tars", we get some pretty strange looks from people:-)

February 19, 2009

Moma's Baby!

Yesterday when we were in Wal-Mart, you said "baby" and I looked around and didn't see a baby, so I said where's the baby? You pointed at yourself and said "Moma's baby". Awwwww, talk about melt my heart. Now everytime Daddy says, "are you Daddy's baby/boy?" you say "No! Moma!" I love it, love it, love it! All the changing dirty diapers and dealing with tantrums has finally paid off!

February 07, 2009

Adventures in Potty Training

Today before your bath I decided that I would let you run around without your diaper on and maybe you would pee in the potty, I figured the worst that would happen is I would have to clean up pee off the hardwood floor. Well I brought your potty in the living room and told you when you pee pee in the potty you can get in the bath tub. Well you kept saying bath (which you do several times a day even though you only stay in there a few minutes), but I kept telling you to pee pee in the potty first, I even gave you some juice to speed up the process. So, a few minutes later you came out of the kitchen saying I pee pee. You pee peed alright in the central heat and air vent! So I put you in the bath and you weren't in there 5 minutes and you said I poo poo! Yep, all in the tub. I think we have a long way to go!

Where Did Daddy Go?

You've got a new phrase that you like to say now! It's, "Where Da-e go" (Where did Daddy go?). You are constantly asking me this, anytime that Daddy is out of site that is what I hear. Daddy was out of town today and you were playing with a phone and I told you daddy was on there, so you said "Da-e where you a?" (Daddy where are you at?) I told you to give Daddy kisses, so you started kissing all over the phone, it was so sweet. For some reason when I call you at Grammy's house, you won't talk to me. You are definetly becoming a little Daddy's Boy!

February 06, 2009

Muddy Tires!

Today, Daddy took you in his truck with the 4 wheeler to check out some land to ride on. Well, y'all got the truck stuck in the mud and had to have someone come pull you out. You must have had the time of your life, b/c when you got back, you kept saying "st" (stuck) "nu-e tars" (muddy tires). You were so excited you could barely catch your breath and just kept saying "st nu-e tars".

Edited to add: It is 5 days later now, and I still can't get you to quit talking about "nu-e tars"!

January 25, 2009

First Sentence

Today you said your first sentence that we could understand! We were watching Barney and there was a wagon with a bunch of balls in it and you said "Wha da?" (What's that) I said "a wagon" and you said "waon", I said "yep, wagon" and you pointed and said "See da balls in da waon?" (See the balls in the wagon?) Everyday, you just amaze me more and more at the things you do!

January 18, 2009

CHEESE!

A little story for you........ Daddy got Moma a camera for Christmas, and he wanted to show it to Nana, but he didn't want Moma to know what it was, so he made her go in the other room while he showed it to Nana. Well you were in there with them and you kept saying "cheese" b/c you wanted them to take your picture! So then Moma knew for sure what Daddy got her for Christmas (she already had a pretty good idea though).

January 17, 2009

Tractor

Today, you were playing your usual game of "Wha dis?" You were pointing at a bulldozer in a book and I said "I don't know, what is it?" fully expecting you to say "tars" (tires), b/c for some reason you LOVE tires and call everything with wheels on it "tars". I was so surprised when you responded "trator" (tractor). You are just getting too smart!

January 15, 2009

Good Manners, Favorite Phrases and Favorite Words

Your favorite phrase is "Wha dis?" (What's this?). Even if you know what it is, you still say "Wha dis?" I always reply with, "I don't know, what is it?" Well today, you told me"dinesaur" (dinosaur). I think that is such a big word for a little guy! Especially a little guy that about a month ago would only say the first syllable of a couple of words.

Your favorite word is NO! (I think that is a favorite word of most toddlers though.) Whenever I ask you something, you always respond with no, even if the answer should be yes. Today I was asking you questions that should have yes answers, you kept answering with your usual NO. Then I asked you if you wanted some candy and you said "pease" (please). I was trying to trick you and you tricked me, you little stinker!

When we went to Wal-Mart today, you were so funny. About the first 15 people that we saw, you said hey to. They would chuckle and tell you hey back. We ran into one guy a second time, and you told him hey for a second time, so he said "hey again"! When we got to the register, you were helping put the stuff up on the counter so that we could pay for it. You kept telling the cashier "here go" (here you go), she then told you thank you, so you said "you wel wel" (you're welcome). I was so proud of you and the cashier even commented on how good you were talking. I think that was the first conversation that you had with someone.

Edited to add: A few days after our trip to Wal-Mart, we went back and saw that same cashier and she said well, there's that polite little boy! I was so proud that you made such a good lasting impression on someone!
